Dr Rebecca Ford
Rebecca Ford is a Senior Lecturer in Plant Biotechnology and Molecular Pathology in the School of Agriculture and Food Systems at the Faculty of Land and Food Resources and coordinator of the Master of Agricultural Science.
Dr Ford is internationally recognised for her research in plant genomics, molecular pathology and applied crop breeding technologies.The research objectives of her group are to develop and apply molecular technologies to improve the breeding and selection of elite accessions of temperate legume (chickpea, lentil, field pea, grasspea and vetch), horticultural (carrot, celery, potato) and vegetable and oilseed Brassica crop species, and to study the diversity and evolution of breeding germplasm and associated important pathogens.
Rebecca teaches Project A, Research Project Management and co-teaches Animal and Plant Protection with Peter Cakebread .
